1. Who this policy is from
This site is operated by Obsidian Edge LLC, a Pennsylvania limited liability company, doing business as Obsidian Edge Partners. In this policy, "we" and "I" refer to that entity.
This policy describes what information is collected through obsidianedgepartners.com, why it is collected, and what happens to it. It applies to this website only. If you reach another site through a link here, that site's own terms and practices govern what happens there.
2. What is collected
Information you provide
The inquiry form on this site asks for your name and email address, and optionally your organization, a description of what you are navigating, the kind of support you are seeking, and any additional context you choose to add. Everything you type into those fields is collected. Nothing else on this site collects information from you.
If you email directly rather than using the form, that email and its contents are collected in the ordinary course.
Information collected automatically
This site does not run analytics, advertising, or tracking software of any kind. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, and no behavioral tracking.
Two things still happen automatically, and you should know about both:
- Hosting logs. This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes standard server request data, including IP addresses, for security and delivery. This is infrastructure logging, not analytics run by us.
- Fonts. The typefaces on this site are served by Google Fonts. Loading a page sends a request to Google's servers, which transmits your IP address to Google. This happens on page load, before any action on your part.
3. Sensitive information
Much of this work involves circumstances people would reasonably consider private: a severance under negotiation, a medical or family leave, a performance dispute, a departure being planned quietly.
Please read this before you write
The inquiry form is a starting point, not a secure channel. It is not encrypted end to end, and it is not the place for medical records, diagnoses, legal documents, account numbers, or the fine detail of a dispute.
Tell me enough to understand whether this is the right fit. Nothing more. The detail belongs in a conversation, once we have established a channel appropriate to it.
If you do include sensitive details, they are handled with the same care as everything else described in this policy, but the caution above still stands.
4. How information is used
What you submit is used to respond to you, to understand what you are navigating, to determine whether the work is a fit, and to carry on the conversation that follows.
It is not sold. It is not rented. It is not shared with advertisers, data brokers, or marketing platforms. You will not be added to a mailing list because you filled out a form. There is no mailing list.
If you inquire on behalf of an organization, or through an engagement your employer is sponsoring, that context is used to route the conversation appropriately. It does not mean your employer is given access to what you wrote.
5. Use of AI in intake
AI tools may be used to support intake and administration. In practice, that can include organizing and summarizing inquiries, drafting internal notes, and preparing responses for review.
Three commitments govern that use:
- A person decides. No decision about whether to take on an engagement, and no substantive response to you, is made by an automated system. Every response you receive has been reviewed by me.
- Judgment is not delegated. AI is used for administration and drafting. The advisory work itself, the reading of your situation and the counsel that follows, is human.
- It is disclosed. This section exists because you should not have to guess.
Where AI tools are used, they are commercial services governed by their own terms, and your information may be processed on their systems in the course of that use. If you would prefer your inquiry not be processed with AI assistance, say so in your message and it will be handled manually.
6. Confidentiality and privilege
Discretion is fundamental to this work, and what you share is treated accordingly. But discretion is not the same as legal privilege, and the difference matters enough to state plainly.
Obsidian Edge LLC provides strategic advisory services. It is not a law firm. Contacting this practice does not create an attorney-client relationship, and what you share is not protected by attorney-client privilege. In a legal proceeding, communications with an advisor are generally discoverable in a way that communications with your attorney are not.
If your situation may become adversarial, that distinction is worth understanding before you write, and it is something I will raise with you directly if it becomes relevant.
7. Who information is shared with
Information is shared only with service providers necessary to operate this practice, and only to the extent needed:
- Formspree processes and delivers inquiry form submissions.
- Cloudflare hosts this site and processes request data.
- Google Fonts serves typefaces and receives IP addresses on page load.
- Email and productivity providers store and deliver correspondence.
- AI service providers, as described in section 5.
Each maintains its own privacy practices. Information may also be disclosed where required by law, or where necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.
8. Cookies and tracking
This site sets no cookies. It runs no analytics. It uses no advertising or tracking technology, and it does not build a profile of you or follow you across other sites.
There is no cookie banner on this site because there is nothing to consent to.
9. How long information is kept
Inquiries are kept as long as needed to respond and to maintain a record of the conversation, and no longer than necessary for the purposes described here or required by law. Records tied to an active or completed engagement are kept in line with ordinary business and professional practice.
You can ask for your inquiry to be deleted at any time. See section 10.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the information held about you, ask that it be corrected or deleted, object to or restrict how it is used, ask for a copy in portable form, and be free from discrimination for exercising any of these rights.
Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws, along with individuals in the United Kingdom and European Economic Area, may have additional or more specific rights.
Because this practice does not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising, several of the rights that exist under those laws do not arise here.
To exercise any right, email [email protected]. Requests are answered within the timeframe the applicable law requires, and in any case without unnecessary delay.
11. Security
This site is served over HTTPS. Reasonable measures are taken to protect information in transit and at rest, using established providers rather than custom infrastructure.
No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and no honest policy claims otherwise. This is why section 3 asks you to keep the first message brief.
12. Children
This site is intended for professional audiences and is not directed to anyone under 18. Information is not knowingly collected from children. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact me and it will be deleted.
13. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the practice changes. The effective date at the top reflects the current version. Material changes will be reflected there, and continued use of the site after an update means the revised policy applies.
14. Contact
Questions about this policy, or about how your information is handled, can go directly to [email protected].
